Fire Cider Recipe by Sarah (Gaia Rain) Robison

Listen, I know y'all don't like a lot of reading before the recipe, so I'll keep it brief lol.

Fire Cider is a ages old remedy to help boost your immune system and help you to fight off colds and flus. It can also help aid in gastrointestinal issues such as IBS, indigestion and more. It's a great little potion to have in your cabinet! Made with raw apple cider vinegar and lots of herbs, fruits, spices and more, it packs a powerful immune-boosting punch! So! Without further adieu, here is my recipe!

Fire Cider by Sarah (Gaia Rain) Robison

Ingredients:
5 to 6 cloves of fresh garlic; coarsely chopped
1 medium red onion; chopped
1 large piece of fresh ginger root; chopped
4 jalapeno peppers; sliced
1 large piece of fresh horseradish root; chopped
1 large orange; sliced
1 large lemon; sliced
2 to 3 sprigs of fresh rosemary
2 tbsp turmeric powder
5 to 6 cinnamon sticks
1 fresh cayenne pepper; chopped (or 1 tsp dried powder)
1 tbsp whole peppercorns
2 to 3 fresh sprigs of thyme
Rosehips (just toss a small handful in!)
1 to 2 tbsp fennel seed
Raw apple cider vinegar

Directions:
Chop and prepare all ingredients and add to a gallon jar. Squeeze the orange and lemon so that the juice is expressed into the jar. Pour enough raw apple cider vinegar into the jar to cover all of the ingredients. Be sure to leave about an inch of headspace at the top of the jar. Seal with a lid and give it a good shake!

Set your jar in a cool, dark place for 4 to 6 weeks, occasionally giving it a shake to mix things up. At the end of the wait time, pour the mixture through a fine sieve or cheesecloth to strain out the solid pieces. It helps to have a second gallon jar to pour into. You can also just use a bowl. Squeeze the remaining liquid from the strained ingredients! Get every drop of goodness out of them and into the cider! You can either discard the scraps, put them in the compost, or dry them in the oven to process into cooking seasoning!

You can now pour your fire cider into smaller jars or bottles.

Dosage: take 1 tsp each morning to boost your immune system. If you are feeling like you have a bug coming on, start taking 1 tsp 3 times per day, morning, noon and evening.

*It's a VERY strong flavor! So, you may want to dilute it in water or drink it straight if you're a beast! LOL!

I hope that you enjoy this recipe! Stay witchy, stay healthy, and stay beautiful!

Sarah
